A bas-relief in memory of Izvestiya military correspondent Semyon Eremin, who was killed in the special operation zone during a Ukrainian drone attack, was unveiled in the editorial office building on 25 February.

Sculptor Alexander Nozdrin noted that the journalist is depicted in a bulletproof vest, as he was always in conditions of danger. According to him, it took six months to create the bas-relief, and bronze was used to make it, symbolizing eternal memory.

On April 19, 2024, Semyon Eremin died while filming a report in a special operation zone during an FPV drone attack. After the second drop from the drone, the journalist was wounded, he later died. The war correspondent was 42 years old.

On April 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded Eremin with the Order of Courage posthumously.
