The expert predicted the growth of online movie theater revenue by the end of 2024


The revenue of online movie theaters for 2024 according to preliminary data will amount to more than 100 billion rubles, said CEO of TelecomDaily Denis Kuskov at the 27th forum CSTB.PRO.MEDIA.
Earlier, the media reported that at the end of 2023 the revenue from subscriptions and advertising amounted to 81 billion rubles.
"According to our preliminary calculations, the revenue of online cinemas for 2024 will be more than 100 billion. Practically, we have caught up with pay TV, which has developed much more than non-linear viewing," Kuskov said at the plenary session.
According to him, the number of subscriptions in 2024 is more than 60 million. This figure shows that interest in online platforms is growing, the expert summarized.
In Russia, the total number of platform users grew from 45 million to 58 million over the year, increasing by almost 30% in 2024 compared to 2023. This follows from the report of TelecomDaily agency, which was familiarized by Izvestia.
The share of the top five - Kinopoisk, Ivi, Okko, Wink and Kion - is growing, these players together control more than 86% of the market against 80% in 2023. At the same time, the number of paid subscriptions has grown even more significantly, by almost 33% - from 31 million to 41 million.

This follows from the study of the service of booking accommodation "Avito Travel" and online movie theater Wink. Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria and the Altai Republic were the regions whose residents spend the most time watching movies and TV series.
