Six airplanes flying to Sochi decided to leave for alternate airfields due to prolonged snowfall in Sochi. This was reported on February 25 by the press service of the International Airport of the city.
"At 10:30, 25.02.2025 the crews of six aircraft made decisions to "leave" to alternate airfields," - follows from the message in the Telegram-channel.
It is reported that in Sochi for the third day in a row there is snowfall, accompanied by a decrease in visibility to 500 meters. The press service specified that such weather conditions have not been observed for more than 10 years.
Currently, Sochi airport continues to serve passengers, but delays are possible due to the late arrival of aircraft.
"All services of the airport are working in a reinforced mode, additional staff is involved, for the maximum possible operational service of aircraft and passengers in conditions of abnormal weather conditions," - said in a statement.
Earlier, February 22, the flight of Azur Air from Sochi to Phuket on February 22 was delayed for more than 15 hours due to difficult weather conditions. The airline said that the initial reason for the delay was heavy snow, and then the crew ran out of working hours.
