Bloomberg reported a near doubling of Tesla sales in Europe in January

Sales of electric cars Tesla in January 2025 fell by 45% in all European countries, while the number of registrations of new electric cars from competitors has risen sharply. Bloomberg reported on February 25.
"According to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, the company led by Ilon Musk registered just 9.945 thousand cars in January, down from 18.161 thousand a year earlier," the publication said.
The company registered just 1.277 thousand new cars in Germany in January, the lowest since July 2021. Sales in France fell by 63% - this was Tesla's worst result since August 2022.
At the same time, sales of electric cars in the region as a whole increased by 37%. The greatest growth was recorded in Germany and the UK.
Earlier, February 6, the Financial Times characterized the sharp decline in sales of electric cars Tesla in Europe as a manifestation of the negative public reaction to Musk's interference in European politics.
Prior to that, on January 27, the publication reported that the American company filed a lawsuit against the European Union because of duties on imports of electric cars produced in China. In October 2024, the organization imposed tariffs on Tesla of up to 7.8%, as well as on other Chinese electric cars of up to 35.3%. Tesla's lawsuit followed similar claims from Germany's BMW and several Chinese automakers.
