"Donbass Dome" thwarted a Ukrainian UAV attack on a school in Donetsk

The Donbass Dome airspace protection and electronic warfare (REB) system has thwarted a terrorist attack by a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on a school in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). This was reported by the regional defense headquarters on February 25.

It is specified that the drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was intercepted in Kuibyshev district.

According to the DNR defense headquarters, the drone was equipped with a self-destruct device. However, explosive technicians of the Russian Federal Security Service's regional Federal Security Service defused its warhead with the help of a mobile robotic complex and destroyed it at a specialized testing ground.

On February 24, it was reported that the Donbass Dome REB system repelled 171 attacks by Ukrainian UAVs on the infrastructure and civilian population of the DNR during the week. In particular, over the airspace of Makeyevka it was possible to intercept a drone that was targeting one of the critical water pumping stations. Also in the Kirovsky district of Donetsk, an aircraft-type drone heading towards residential neighborhoods was suppressed.
