Latvia's biathlete Rastorguev accused his coach of beating him up

Latvian biathlete Andrejs Rastorguevs accused national team coach Ilmars Bricis of beating him during the World Championships held in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
"He hit me. Broke my finger. Broke my nose. I think my shoulder is also seriously injured. Now I'm going to the hospital," Rastorguev told Tvnet on February 24.
It is specified that the incident occurred after the biathlete approached the coach to discuss the problem related to the missing skis in 2024. He expressed suspicion of Bricis, suggesting his involvement in the theft, and threatened to contact the police if the sports equipment was not returned. In response, the coach pushed Rastorguev out of the room.
At present, Bricis did not comment on the incident.
On February 20, it became known that the ex-head of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Luis Rubiales was sentenced to a fine of € 10.8 thousand for kissing soccer player Jennifer Hermoso without her consent. He has been suspended for the time being, and the mentor has also been banned from coming closer than 200 meters to the athlete. Despite the verdict, Rubiales avoided jail time. The incident took place in August 2023.
