American billionaire Ilon Musk, who has Canadian citizenship, called Canada a fake country. He expressed the corresponding opinion on February 25 in the social network X (formerly https://iz.ru/1844120/2025-02-24/bolee-150-tys-kanadtcev-podpisali-petitciiu-o-prizyve-lishit-maska-grazhdanstva).

"Canada is not a real country," he wrote.

So he responded to a news post claiming that more than 170,000 Canadians had signed an official government petition asking Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to strip Musk of his Canadian citizenship for his role in US President Donald Trump' s administration and attempts to "attack Canada's sovereignty."

On the eve of the newspaper The Guardian reported that more than 150 thousand residents of Canada signed a petition calling to deprive the American billionaire of Canadian citizenship. It was noted that Canadians resent the close alliance of the businessman with Trump, who after returning to the White House has repeatedly threatened to turn Canada into the 51st American state.
