A citizen of a Central Asian country with temporary registration in Russia was sentenced to five years in a general regime penal colony for calling for terrorism and extremism on social networks. The decision was made by the 1st Western Military Court of the Orenburg region. This was reported on February 25 by the press service of the FSS of Russia in the region.

"Having principles related to the ideology of terrorism, the man in his group in the messenger Telegram placed text materials in which there were statements aimed at justifying terrorist and extremist activities," - stated in the statement of the agency.

On this fact, criminal cases were initiated under part 2 of article 205.2 ("Public calls for the implementation of terrorist activities") and part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Public calls for the implementation of extremist activities).

He was sentenced to five years' imprisonment. The defendant will serve his sentence in a penal colony of general regime.

February 24, a man was arrested in Stavropol region for two months on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack. It was specified that he had purchased components for the manufacture of an improvised explosive device. The defendant left them in a cache in the area of the park of culture and recreation "Victory". His accomplices were to take the explosive device from there and plant it in a designated place.
