"Most often in pancakes add condensed milk, jam, chocolate paste or just butter and sugar. But here's the trouble - such fillings can easily turn your breakfast into a calorie bomb, which will bring neither benefits nor long-lasting satiety," she said.

Khaykina added that the pancake itself, regardless of the recipe, is not harmful to the body, as it contains up to 100 kcal. When you add toppings, it becomes too caloric, and because of the excess sugar causes a drop in energy, which provokes the desire to eat more.

According to her, a healthy alternative to classic sweet fillings, which does not spoil the figure and gives a feeling of long satiety, can be Greek yogurt combined with berries, which in addition to sweetness also give vitamins with antioxidants.

In addition, cottage cheese with honey or banana can be added to pancakes. Such a dish will be healthy and sweet without added sugar. Also delicious alternatives can be nut paste with banana, salmon with cottage cheese or egg with greens and spinach, she noted.
