Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on 25 February that she doubted the sincerity of France and the UK in voting on the resolutions on Ukraine in the UN Security Council (SC) and General Assembly (GA).

She pointed to the inconsistency of the decisions of the two European countries. Thus, France and Britain at the UN General Assembly supported the anti-Russian resolution and allowed the UN Security Council to adopt a draft neutral document without accusing the Russian side. At the same time, France and Britain could oppose it, as they have the right of veto.

"It takes three minutes to walk between the halls of the General Assembly and the Security Council in a measured step. Did they change their views on the world crisis in 180 seconds? Or do they just have a mask in each pocket - for every occasion?" - Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel.

At the same time, she noted that the US draft resolution on the Ukrainian conflict adopted in the UNSC sets the right framework.

"The UNSC resolution without condemnation of Russia, with a call for peace sets the right framework and in terms of status takes precedence over the UNGA resolution," she emphasized.

The UN Security Council adopted the US draft resolution on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. The resolution was adopted in its original form, without anti-Russian rhetoric. At the same time, Russian Ambassador to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that the US draft resolution on Ukraine in the UN Security Council was a starting point for further efforts to settle the Ukrainian conflict peacefully.
