The chairman of the Russian Public Chamber's commission on sovereignty issues and co-chairman of the coordination council for the integration of new regions, Vladimir Rogov, on February 24 called the anti-Russian resolution on Ukraine adopted by the UN General Assembly a shameful document aimed at fueling the conflict.

"The UN platforms continue to breed shameful resolutions that do not meet the original principles of the organization's creation," he told RIA Novosti.

He also drew attention to the fact that American delegates for the first time did not vote in favor of the Ukrainian draft resolution, but proposed a neutral document.

The UN General Assembly adopted an anti-Russian resolution on Ukraine on February 24. The draft was supported by 93 countries, 18 states voted against the adoption, 65 countries abstained from voting. Later, the UN Security Council adopted the US draft resolution on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. The resolution was adopted in its original form, without anti-Russian rhetoric. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that the draft resolution that was adopted in the UN Security Council set the right framework.
