Zakharova commented on the UN Security Council resolution without condemning Russia

The US draft resolution on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, which was adopted in the UN Security Council, sets the right framework. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on February 25.
"France and Britain in the Security Council have veto power and could have kept it out. But they didn't. Thus, the UN Security Council resolution without condemning Russia, with a call for peace sets the right framework," Zakharova said in a message on her Telegram channel.
She also recalled the anti-Russian resolution that Ukraine had earlier submitted to the UN General Assembly (UNGA). It was adopted despite the fact that the US was against it, she noted.
After that, according to Zakharova, the United States introduced exactly the same draft resolution without anti-Russian rhetoric to the UNSC, where it was approved without any amendments.
"Attention to the question: when were France and Britain sincere? When they twisted the American draft UNGA resolution or when the same American draft was approved without amendments?" - drew attention of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
She drew attention to the fact that the distance between the halls of the General Assembly and the Security Council is only a three-minute walk.
"Did they change their views on the world crisis in 180 seconds? Or is it just that they have a mask in each pocket - for every occasion?" - Zakharova stated.
The UN Security Council adopted a US draft resolution on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. The resolution was adopted in its original form, without anti-Russian rhetoric. At the same time, Russia's post representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that the US draft in the UN Security Council on Ukraine is a starting point for further efforts to peacefully resolve the Ukrainian conflict.
