The European Union (EU) has allocated €138 billion to help Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron said on February 24 during a visit to the White House, where a meeting with US President Donald Trump was organized.

"The European Union has invested €138 billion to help Ukraine," he said during a speech at the White House, broadcast on February 24 on the agency's YouTube channel.

Macron noted that Europe does not minimize its responsibility in the issue of supporting Ukraine. According to him, France shares the American president's desire for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Hungarian Foreign and Foreign Economic Relations Minister Péter Szijjártó said on 24 February that the EU countries wanted to provide Kiev with a military aid package consisting of €20-40bn and an "unimaginable" number of weapons.
