The US draft resolution in the UN Security Council on Ukraine is a starting point for further efforts to peacefully settle the Ukrainian conflict. This was stated by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya on February 24.

"We see the adopted text only as a starting point for further efforts to peacefully resolve the Ukrainian crisis," he said during a UN Security Council meeting.

Nebenzya specified that the text of the resolution is not ideal, but at the same time it can be considered the first attempt to take the path of peace.

In addition, the Russian ambassador noted that the only player on the international arena that opposes the end of the Ukrainian conflict is Europe. In his opinion, the European states are trying to oppose the settlement of the crisis with all their might.

On the same day, the UN Security Council adopted an American draft resolution on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. Ten countries voted in favor of the draft, while five countries did not support the resolution and abstained from responding.
