A traffic accident in southwestern Colombia kills nine military personnel


As a result of the fall of a truck into a ravine from a height of 100 meters in the south-west of Colombia, nine people were killed and 20 others were injured. This was reported by the newspaper El Universo on February 24, citing local authorities.
"Nine soldiers were killed and 20 injured when the vehicle they were traveling in fell off a cliff on a road in southwestern Colombia," the publication said.
According to the governor of the department of Nariño Luis Alfonso Escobar, the truck's brakes failed, causing it to fall into a ravine. There were 36 military personnel in the truck.
The President of the country Gustavo Petro in a message in the social network X (former Twitter) expressed condolences to all relatives of the victims of the accident. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

On February 8 in Mexico as a result of a collision of a bus with a truck killed 30 people. Then the truck went into the oncoming lane and collided with a passenger bus, as a result of which both vehicles caught fire. A total of 40 people were on the bus.
