Battles at Königsberg and in Pomerania


During February 25 on the Zemland Peninsula northwest of Koenigsberg, the Red Army repulsed attacks by enemy infantry and tank forces, inflicting heavy losses, the Izvestia newspaper reports.
"Simultaneously southwest of Koenigsberg our troops took possession of the settlements of Amalien-Walde, Plessen, Voeditten, Tiefensee, Müngen, Gross Hasselberg. Southwest of the town of Chojnice (Konitz) our troops as a result of offensive battles captured the town of Groyss Friedlakd on the territory of Pomerania, as well as with battles occupied several settlements", - stated in the publication of the edition.
There were exactly 73 days left till the Great Victory.
All in all, 125 German tanks were hit and destroyed on all fronts on February 25, 31 enemy planes were shot down in air battles and by anti-aircraft artillery fire.
