Over the past week in Russia, the increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) increased by 6.5% compared to the previous week. This was reported in Rospotrebnadzor on February 25.

It is specified that a total of 993 thousand cases of infection were recorded during the week. In 49 subjects of the country this indicator exceeded the average norm. At the same time, in 30 regions the number of hospitalizations of people increased by 30%.

In addition, experts noted that the increase in the proportion of viruses in the structure of positive findings continues. Mostly found influenza B and A (H1N1) viruses. Also doctors detect a large number of rhinoviruses and MS viruses.

In order to prevent further spread of respiratory infections, 510 schools in 42 regions of the Russian Federation and 100 kindergartens in 30 subjects were closed, as well as 5 boarding schools were closed. More than 7 thousand school classes, about 2 thousand classes in preschool institutions, 13 groups in boarding schools and 74 groups in vocational schools were partially closed, the ministry added.

In addition, 5.9 thousand cases of COVID-19 infection were recorded over the past week. This figure was lower by 10.2% compared to the previous week, noted in Rospotrebnadzor.

February 18, therapist, occupational pathologist of JSC "Medicine" (clinic of Academician Roitberg) Svetlana Burnatskaya reported that treatment with folk remedies for acute respiratory viral infections can be not only ineffective, but also dangerous to health.
