Russia will experiment with labeling sweets and car parts

Experiments will be held in Russia on the labeling of sweets and car parts. The corresponding decrees were approved on the evening of February 24 by the head of the government Mikhail Mishustin.

"To conduct from March 1 to August 31, 2025 on the territory of the Russian Federation an experiment on marking by means of identification of certain types of sweets and confectionery products packed in consumer packaging," the first government document says.

The second government order reports on the trial labeling of certain auto parts.

"To conduct from February 25, 2025 to February 28, 2026 on the territory of the Russian Federation an experiment on marking by means of identification of certain types of components of vehicles and devices with internal combustion engine," the document specifies.

Earlier, companies declared support for both experiments. Thus, ACORT reported that they take part in them in order to timely analyze all business processes, to work out interaction with suppliers, as well as to make proposals for adjusting the system taking into account the specifics of the turnover of goods.

"The Russian auto parts market, unfortunately, has faced a big problem - the growing number of counterfeit products, which not only affects prices, but also poses a danger to the consumer. First of all, the growing number of counterfeits is associated with the withdrawal of foreign brands. Unscrupulous suppliers and sellers under the guise of original spare parts, brought by parallel imports, sell fakes, and their quality leaves much to be desired", - emphasized Mikhail Martynov, General Director of the management company "K-Group".

On February 10, the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed to introduce mandatory labeling of certain heating devices from September 1, 2025. According to the bill, it will be necessary to label central heating radiators and their sections, as well as convectors. It is noted that the measure should help in the fight against illegal trafficking of heating appliances.
