HC "Metallurg" defeated "Severstal" and entered the playoffs of the KHL


The reigning Gagarin Cup winner Metallurg Magnitogorsk Hockey Club (HC) defeated Severstal from Cherepovets in a regular season match of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) and became a participant in the playoffs of the tournament. The meeting on February 24 ended with a score of 4:1.
Among the players of Magnitogorsk club pucks were scored by Artem Minulin (17th minute), Makar Khabarov (20th), Troy Josephs (42nd) and Luke Johnson (59th). Severstal's David Dumbadze (20th) scored a goal.
Metallurg hockey players guaranteed themselves a playoff spot with 74 points and fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
The Salavat Yulaev hockey club from Ufa also made the playoffs after defeating Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the KHL regular season match 3-2 in overtime on February 16.
Lokomotiv, Traktor, Avtomobilist and Ak Bars also secured a playoff spot.
