South Korea decides to lift restrictions on the supply of medical equipment to Russia

South Korea has decided to lift restrictions on the supply of medical equipment to Russia. This was reported on February 24 in the press service of the Ministry of industry, trade and resources of the Republic on the website.
"From February 28, the draft amendments to the "Notification on Export and Import of Strategic Materials" will come into force <...> Export to Russia of medical equipment will be exceptionally exempted from the need to obtain individual permits," - stated in the message.
It is specified that the restrictions will be canceled because of the difficulties of companies - exporters of medical equipment, as a result of which it was decided to supply equipment, the probability of use of which as weapons can be minimal.
However, as it was clarified in the department, this measure is introduced as an exception. Also now the export of such category of goods to the Russian Federation will be carried out without the need to obtain individual permits.
As an example of such equipment, which could potentially cause harm, are named X-ray machines for diagnostics, as well as equipment for creating radiographic images.
Earlier in the day, EU foreign ministers approved the 16th package of sanctions against Russia. The sanctions list included 48 individuals and 35 organizations. In addition, it was decided to ban 13 banks from access to the SWIFT system. Restrictions are also imposed on imports of chrome, some chemicals and on the maintenance of oil and gas refineries.
