US urged to withdraw Ukrainian draft anti-Russian UN resolution from vote

TheUSA does not support the draft anti-Russian UN resolution proposed by Ukraine and asks to withdraw it from the vote in favor of a neutral version authored by Washington. This was stated by the American representative to the UN Dorothy Shea on February 24.
"We cannot support the Ukrainian resolution and ask that it be withdrawn in favor of a strong statement committing us <...> to work toward a lasting peace [in Ukraine]," she said at a meeting of the organization's General Assembly.
Shi also added that the U.S.-proposed resolution calls for an early end to the conflict in Eastern Europe and would be a historic statement for the UN. She called on all member states of the organization, including Russia and Ukraine, to support the document proposed by Washington.
The Bloomberg agency learned about the US intention to block Ukraine's resolution against Russia at the UN on February 22. It was specified that the US draft resolution does not stipulate the principles of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, although they were clearly stated in the previous UN resolutions supported by the USA.
On 24 February, the Financial Times reported that the confrontation over the resolution might reach the UN Security Council, where Washington might take the side of Moscow and Beijing.
