Rospotrebnadzor has taken control of information about an unknown disease, which killed more than 50 people in the north-west of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This was reported in the press service of the agency on February 24.

"Rospotrebnadzor specialists in the operational mode monitor and control epidemiological risks both in the territory of the Russian Federation and abroad", - stated in the message on the site.

It is noted that the agency has a developed laboratory base and reference centers, which allow to monitor and identify disease risks.

In addition, the Automated Information System (AIS) "Perimeter" works at checkpoints across the state border, allowing to analyze epidemic risks, as well as to identify citizens with signs of infectious diseases.

Rospotrebnadzor assured that every case of suspected infectious disease is immediately transferred to the agency.

Earlier in the day, the media reported on the death of 52 people from an unknown disease in DR Congo. It is noted that 943 cases were registered. The disease is dangerous for people of all ages, among the symptoms - fever, chills, headaches, muscle pain, joint pain.
