The average age of passenger cars in Russia has been named

The average age of passenger cars registered in Russia is 15.5 years. This was reported by the analytical agency "Autostat" on February 24.

The oldest were cars of domestic brands, their average age on January 1, 2025 is 18.7 years. In the second place in this rating are cars of Japanese brands, the indicator of which amounted to 17.1 years.

The average age of cars from other countries was of the all-Russian level. In cars of brands from the USA it is at the mark of 15.4 years, in cars of brands from Europe the indicator amounted to 13.6 years, and from South Korea - 11.5 years.

The youngest cars in Russia are cars of Chinese brands, the average age of which is only 4.9 years, analysts noted. The fleet of passenger cars of PRC brands is now three times younger than in Russia as a whole. This is due to high sales of new passenger cars from China over the past two years, when they occupied more than half of the Russian market, the experts explained.
