The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has launched an investigation into the disappearance of a tourist after an avalanche in the mountains of Sochi. This was reported in the press service of the agency on February 24.

"In the media published information about the unknown disappearance of a person as a result of the collapse of snow masses. On this fact the investigative Department of the Adler district <...> organized an investigative inspection," - stated in the Telegram-channel.

It is specified that at the moment investigators establish the circumstances of the incident and the whereabouts of the missing person.

Avalanche occurred in the afternoon of February 24 on the southern slope of Aibga outside the equipped tracks of the resort "Rosa Khutor". At the same time it was reported that one person is not in touch. Later, the press service of the resort clarified that a guide and two riders were in the danger zone. The two people were able to send their coordinates to rescuers, who subsequently worked out the route.
