Russia hopes that Azerbaijan realizes the importance of allied interaction between the countries. This was reported by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin on February 24.
Accordingly, he commented on the closure of Sputnik Azerbaijan and the Russian Information and Cultural Center (Russian House) by the Azerbaijani side.
"I am sure that official Baku understands the importance of allied interaction between Russia and Azerbaijan in accordance with the decision of our leaders," he told reporters.
Galuzin expressed hope that in further steps Baku will be guided by the understanding of the "exceptional importance of the fulfillment of the agreement" of the presidents of the countries, RIA Novosti specifies . According to him, it is impossible to allow steps that will go beyond the framework.
On February 24, the official representative of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan Aikhan Hajizadeh informedabout the abolition of Sputnik Azerbaijan. He specified that the company could receive accreditation for only one correspondent in Azerbaijan.
In turn, Hajizadeh reported on February 6 about Russia's receipt of a note on the termination of the Russian House, noting that the center has no registration as a legal entity.
