American boxer, Olympic silver medalist, absolute world champion in the welterweight category Roy Jones told Izvestia on February 24 about his expectations from the REN TV Fight Club tournament.

"Expectations are the highest, because the level of the tournament is really very high. And, what is good for professional boxing is that the top guys will box with the top guys," he said.

Jones also shared his impressions of the city of Yoshkar-Ola, which he recently visited.

"Liked the city very much, and most importantly, of course, liked the people who welcomed us just great. It was very cool," John said.

Earlier in the day, Jones spoke about the boxing schools of Russia and Cuba. He noted that athletes from the Russian Federation adhere to a forceful manner of fighting. At the same time, he called the Cuban technique playful. In addition, the athlete noted that it is difficult for him to single out Kuzmin or Tetteh, as both athletes, according to him, are true professionals.

The new tournament of "REN TV Fight Club" will be held on February 28, in the Ice Palace "Mari El" Yoshkar-Ola. In one of the most expected fights will fight Russian boxer Sergey Kuzmin and his opponent from Ghana Ebenezer Tetteh. Besides them Igor Sviridchenkov and Cuban Roniel Iglesias will enter the ring, and Russian Sergey Sergeyev will fight in a fight against an athlete from Cuba Jorge Manuel Soto.
