Hungary says there are no conditions for Ukraine's EU membership

The conditions for Ukraine 's accession to the EU do not exist at the moment. This opinion was expressed by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at the opening of the Hungarian parliament session on February 24.
"Today there are no conditions for [Ukraine's EU] membership, and today it would destroy Hungarian farmers and the entire national economy," he believes.
He also reminded that Ukraine will not be able to become a member of the European Union without a decision of the Hungarians. Orban added that there is now a "heated debate" in Brussels about Ukraine's possible membership in the EU, while the issue of Kiev's joining NATO has already been decided against it.
"The elections in the United States decided that Ukraine will not become a member of NATO," the politician explained.
Earlier, on February 22, Orban promised that Kiev will never join the EU, contrary to the opinion of Budapest. According to him, Ukraine will not join NATO, but will become a buffer zone between the alliance and Russia.
