Moscow-based company Bureau 1440 is creating a Russian low-orbit satellite constellation system. The new generation communication will provide high-speed Internet with a speed of up to 1 Gbit/sec with minimal delays anywhere on Earth, the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin said in his official Telegram channel.

The innovative service will be used by transportation companies, oil industry, energy, industry, agriculture, telecom operators, government agencies, emergency services and enterprises in the field of tourism and geological exploration.

Six satellites have already been put into orbit and tests of key technologies have been successfully completed. At the site of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ in Pechatniki, the company is completing construction and installation work and preparing to launch serial production of satellite communication elements. More than 2000 engineers and employees of high-tech companies from Moscow, Tomsk, Krasnoyarsk and other cities are involved in the process.

In general, there are more than 40 such enterprises, scientific and technical centers, laboratories and research institutes in the capital, where more than 30 thousand specialists work, Sobyanin noted. Most of them were created in the Soviet times, such as Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center. But now high-tech startups appear practically from scratch.
