The section of the M-12 "Vostok" toll road to Yekaterinburg is planned to be put into operation by the end of June 2025. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, who flew over the highway section from Tatarstan to the Sverdlovsk region.

"Having flown around the highway, I can say that the pace of work on the extension of M-12 to Yekaterinburg is not bad. There was a lag for a number of reasons, including weather conditions. Last year there were heavy rains, the road was washed out in some places, we could not deliver sand and crushed stone. But by the end of June we are set to prepare the highway for the opening," - the press service of the government quotes Deputy Prime Minister.

Now the state company "Avtodor" is engaged in the construction of a new section is under construction and Dyurtyuli - Achit 275 km long in the territories of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Perm Krai and Sverdlovsk region, the total readiness of the first stage of the road exceeds 72%. At the second stage in Perm Krai, artificial structures and bridges are being constructed (including a bridge over the Malaya Sarana River, which is comparable in height to an eight-story building). At the third stage, a number of interchanges, overpasses and bridges will be built in the Sverdlovsk Region, including a 540-meter-long bridge over the Bolshaya Sarana River.

After Yekaterinburg, the M-12 Vostok federal highway will be extended to Tyumen. In the future, the highway will become part of the transport route "Russia", which will stretch for about 12 thousand kilometers from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok.

On December 12 last year it was reported that the Russian government approved a new plan for the construction of new federal toll roads by the state company Avtodor until 2030. The total amount of funds for the facilities will increase by 20% - from 877 billion to 1.052 trillion rubles. Subsidies from the federal budget will amount to Br889.5 billion. A total of 647 kilometers of toll roads will be introduced (after construction or reconstruction).
