UK extends anti-Russian sanctions


The UK has extended anti-Russian sanctions on 67 individuals and legal entities, as well as 40 ships. The corresponding document was published on the website of the British government on February 24.
In particular, the deputy head of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry Denis Popov, general director of the Tsargrad TV channel Natalia Tyurina, businessmen Andrei Kuzyaev, Roman Trotsenko and Igor Kim, as well as Defense Minister of the DPRK No Gwan Chol fell under London's restrictions.
Among the sub-sanctioned legal entities were car dealer Avilon, Russian Energy Group, Grant-trade company, as well as a number of companies from Central Asia, Turkey, India and China, which are accused of supplying dual-use products to Russia.
Earlier in the day, EU foreign ministers approved the 16th package of sanctions against Russia. The sanctions list included 48 individuals and 35 organizations. In addition, it was decided to ban 13 banks from access to the SWIFT system. Restrictions are also imposed on imports of chrome, some chemicals and on the maintenance of oil and gas processing plants.
