Muslims in Russia and around the world celebrate Ramadan in early spring. It is believed that it was at this time that the Prophet Muhammad received the first verses of the Quran. In the likeness of the prophet, believers observe strict fasting and perform prayers during the month, praising the Almighty. Izvestia tells us about the prayers that are read during the holy month for all Muslims.

Prayer time during Ramadan fast is 2025 in Moscow and by region

The Muslim calendar depends on the phases of the moon, so the dates of the beginning and end of Ramadan change every year. In 2025, it will run from February 28 to March 29. At sunset on March 30, believers will celebrate the feast of thanksgiving — Eid al-Adha, which marks the end of lent.

As in other months, five obligatory prayer prayers are performed during Ramadan. Before sunrise, the morning prayer (Fajr) begins, followed by the noon prayer (zuhr), and shortly before sunset, the evening prayer (asr). After sunset, it is time for the evening (Maghrib) and night (isha) prayers.

It is necessary to read prayers at a strictly allotted time. Their schedules vary depending on the region. For example, on Saturday, March 1st, in The first Fajr will be held at 05:32, Zuhr at 12:43, Asr at 15:25, Maghreb at 18:05, and Isha at 19:46. Prayers in Kazan will be held in 05:04, 12:00, 15:20, 17:19 and 18:59, respectively. In Ufa — in 06:26, 13:30, 16:56, 18:50 and 20:20. You can view the full schedule by day and region on on the "Prayer time" portal.

Also, during Ramadan, an additional collective prayer is performed in mosques — tarawih, which is recited after the obligatory night prayer. It is not obligatory, but many believers recite it in the mosque or at home in the hope of Allah's reward.

Dua for suhur and iftar

Since it is possible to eat during fasting only before sunrise and after sunset, special prayers (dua) are also recited before each meal. The first meal is called suhur. They try to perform it as early as possible, before the start of the morning prayer. The second, iftar, begins immediately after dark.

Prayer that is recited during the morning meal (suhoor):

(Translation: "I intend to keep the fast of the month of Ramadan from dawn to dusk sincerely for the sake of Allah.")

The prayer that is recited after the evening prayer (iftarah):

(Translation: "O Allah, for Your sake I have fasted, believed in You, relied on You, and talked about Your food. O Forgiving One, forgive me the sins that I have committed or will commit.")

Daily prayers in the holy month of Ramadan

In addition, there are prayers for every day of the month of Ramadan. It is recommended to read them each on its own day, for example, in the morning, immediately after sunrise.

So, on the first day of fasting, the following prayer is recited:

(Translation: "O Allah! Make my fast this month one of the real fasts, and my prayer one of the real prayers. And awaken me this month from the sleep of carelessness and carelessness. And forgive me my trespasses, O You who forgive the trespasses of Your servants.")

And on the last day of Ramadan, such a prayer is provided.:

(Translation: "O Allah! Make my fast on this day one that You and Your Messenger are pleased with, through gratitude and acceptance, so that its precepts are supported by the foundations, the right of our Lord Muhammad and his most pure family. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds!")

Prayers can be read in any language. The main thing is a sincere desire for spiritual self—improvement and purification. The texts of Ramadan prayers by day can be found in special collections and on popular online resources.
