Russian forward Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins scored his 508th puck in the regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL) on February 24 and surpassed the famous Canadian forward, 10-time Stanley Cup winner Jean Beliveau.

The Russian opened the scoring in a home game against the New York Rangers in the 13th minute.

Malkin returned to the ice for the first time after a knee injury that caused him to miss six games.

The 38-year-old Russian forward is now fourth in the NHL's top snipers. His next competitor is Canadian hockey player Gilbert Perreault, who scored 512 pucks during his NHL career.

On January 25, Evgeni Malkin was forced to leave the game against the Seattle Kraken due to injury. He collided with Seattle forward Chandler Stephenson, resulting in a knee injury.
