A car hit an elderly cyclist in Novomoskovsk

In Novomoskovsk (Tula region), an elderly cyclist fell under the wheels of a car. The man was hospitalized, reports the regional traffic police in its Telegram channel.

The collision occurred the night before, February 23, on Mira Street. It is preliminarily established that the 20-year-old driver of VAZ-2106 hit a 63-year-old man who was crossing the road on a bicycle.

As a result of the accident, the cyclist received various injuries and was hospitalized, writes TSN24.

Earlier in the day, the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry told Izvestia that over the past weekend and holidays on Russian roads recorded 346 accidents, in which 50 people died and 444 suffered. As a result of 92 accidents, 42 of which occurred at crosswalks and 50 out of their zone of action, 14 pedestrians were killed and another 80 were injured of varying severity.
