A 51-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk was found guilty of committing a crime under part 3 of article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence to two or more persons").
The incident occurred on the night of October 26 last year. A company of five people of no fixed abode consumed alcoholic beverages in an abandoned wooden house on Transitnaya Street. When everyone went to bed, he dropped a cigarette, after which there was a fire.
The man failed to help his acquaintances to get out of the burning house, left the scene on his own and fled.
