Investigative Committee opened a case over the death of a child in a fire in the Chelyabinsk Region

In the Chelyabinsk region a criminal case on the fact of death of a 12-year-old boy in a fire in a private house. This is reported by the regional Investigation Department of the Investigation Committee of Russia.

The fire occurred on the night of Monday, February 24, in the village Filimonovo Chebarkulsky district. Before the arrival of rescuers, five people were evacuated from the private house, they were not injured.

"In half of the house lived a large family. The father managed to get the mother and seven-year-old daughter out, but due to heavy smoke he could not save his 12-year-old son," the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told IA "Ura.ru".

The Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case under Part 1 Article 109 of the RF Criminal Code "Causing death by negligence". The preliminary cause of the fire in the agency called short circuit of electrical wiring.

Meanwhile, the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations in its Telegram-channel reports that a fire detector was installed in the house, but the tenants removed the device for the time of repairing the wiring. They did not have time to install the detector back.

The area of the fire amounted to 84 square meters. 16 people and four units of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. The exact cause and circumstances of the fire are being established. The prosecutor's office also started its check.

On February 22 in Kurgan region there was a fire in a private house, where there were five children. A seven-year-old girl managed to carry her four-month-old brother out of the fire, the three remaining children died - the bodies of four-year-old twins and their three-year-old brother were found by rescuers during extinguishing.
