Baisalov announced a summit with the heads of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan

The presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will hold the first trilateral summit in Khujand on March 31. This was announced on February 24 by Deputy Chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov during his speech at the high-level segment of the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
"In addition, he announced that the first-ever trilateral summit of the heads of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will be held in Khujand on March 31, which will be an important step in strengthening regional cooperation," the press service of the Kyrgyz Republic's Cabinet of Ministers reported on its official website.
It was specified that Baisalov announced the final agreement on the line of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border and called this event "a historic triumph of diplomacy and political will".
Previously, the head of Kyrgyzstan's State National Security Committee (SNSC), Kamchybek Tashiyev, and his Tajik counterpart, Saimumin Yatimov, signed a document on Friday, February 21, to delimit the borders of the two states.
Earlier, on December 4, 2024, Dushanbe and Bishkek completed the description of the disputed sections of the border. The meeting of government delegations on delimitation and demarcation in the city of Batken in Kyrgyzstan was held in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding.
Before that, in early May, there was another incident of incomplete delimitation on the border of the two republics. There was a conflict between Tajik shepherds herding cattle near the border and Kyrgyz border guards , which ended in a shootout. One of the Tajiks was wounded.
