Denmark allocates additional aid to Ukraine in the amount of $280 mln

The Danish authorities have decided to allocate additional aid to Ukraine in the amount of 2 billion Danish kroner, which is equivalent to $280m, The Copenhagen Post reported on 24 February, citing the Danish government office.

"Denmark provides Ukraine with additional assistance in the amount of 2 billion Danish kroner, focusing on the supply of ammunition and the formation of the Ukrainian brigade in cooperation with the Nordic and Baltic countries", - stated in the material.

According to the publication, the Danish Foreign Ministry also reported on the allocation of an additional $56.7 million to Kiev as civilian support.

In turn, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that the state will continue to support Kiev as long as necessary. She also called on the Nordic and Baltic countries to supply more weapons to Ukraine and make donations to the country's defense industry.

European Commission (EC) President Ursula von der Leyen on 24 February announced financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of €3.5bn. She also added that she would present a plan to increase arms production and strengthen the EU's defence capabilities at the summit of the organization on 7 March.
