Heads of the Education Ministries of the Russian Federation and Abkhazia signed a memorandum of cooperation

Russian Education Minister Sergey Kravtsov and his Abkhazian counterpart Inal Gablia signed a memorandum on long-term cooperation between the two agencies. This was reported on February 24 on the website of the Russian agency.

"We are in close contact with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Abkhazia and are constantly working to improve the educational process - we realize teacher training, material and technical support," - said Kravtsov.

He emphasized that the signing of the memorandum will consolidate the agreements reached between Russia and Abkhazia in the field of preschool, primary, general, secondary vocational and additional education and will determine the directions of further partnership.

Gablia, in turn, expressed gratitude to Kravtsov for supporting the educational system of the republic and noted that this step will strengthen cooperation between the countries. He also added that Abkhazia is interested in developing a strategy for the development of education up to 2036 with a perspective up to 2040.

On February 23, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko told Izvestia about improvement of qualifications of Abkhazian doctors in cooperation with Russian colleagues. He informed about the opening of a resource for distance education, which allows to get acquainted with lectures of leading specialists, and the work of the Kuban Medical University directly in the outpatient department of the republican hospital.
