Small and medium-sized businesses attracted RUB 470 billion in 2024 with the help of umbrella guarantees, the SME Corporation told Izvestia on February 24. This is one and a half times more than a year earlier.

More than 38 thousand entrepreneurs received financial support.

It is specified that by the volume of attracted financing in the leaders are processing industries (106.4 billion rubles), infrastructure construction (48.9 billion rubles), transportation and storage (34.8 billion rubles), scientific and technical activities (17 billion rubles), information and communication (16.1 billion rubles), agriculture (15.4 billion rubles), hotels and catering (12.1 billion rubles).

"More than 92% of disbursements went to micro and small businesses, which have the hardest time attracting loan financing due to the lack of collateral," said SME Corporation CEO Alexander Isaevich.

The top sectors in terms of growth in the number of recipients of support in 2024 compared to 2023 were services (215%), culture and sports (200%), hotels and catering (145%), transportation and storage (137%).

The largest volume of loans with umbrella guarantees was attracted by entrepreneurs from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow Region, Krasnodar Territory, Sverdlovsk, Novosibirsk, Rostov, Nizhny Novgorod, Voronezh and Samara Regions.

The mechanism of "umbrella" guarantees was launched by the Ministry of Economic Development at the end of 2021 by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin within the framework of the national project "Small and Medium Entrepreneurship". With its help, small and medium-sized businesses attracted about RUB 1 trillion in financing for the development of their businesses. In 2025, the program will be continued under the new national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy".

Earlier, on December 27, 2024, it was reported that in Russia the number of established small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) exceeded 1 million. 814 thousand of them were created in the form of individual entrepreneurship. This was stated in an analytical note of the autonomous non-profit organization "National Priorities".
