Severodvinsk was shown the North Pole

A preview screening of the feature film "North Pole" was held in Severodvinsk. VTB Bank was a partner of the event, according to its press service.
The film directed by Alexander Kott is dedicated to the first Soviet nuclear submarine K-3 "Leninsky Komsomol", built at Sevmash in 1958. The events unfold at the height of the Cold War, when the K-3 goes on a long campaign in the Arctic Ocean. The submarine must make a surfacing there and thereby show that the USSR is capable of launching a retaliatory nuclear strike on enemy territory even from the top of the Earth. At the head of the campaign appointed Captain Second Rank Zhivtsov, who even at the stage of testing discovered a serious problem with navigation on the ship.
The film "North Pole" will be released on February 27.
"In the history of Russia there are many events that can become the basis for fascinating and poignant scenarios. Films about technical, scientific and military achievements are a way to popularize topics that have undeservedly remained in the shadows for a long time," said VTB Vice President Ilya Ermakov. According to him, this is an opportunity to inspire new generations by telling a wide audience about our compatriots, their resilience, courage, heroism, perseverance, intelligence and talent.
Employees and veterans, students of specialized educational institutions, schoolchildren and servicemen serving in the production company of the plant were invited to the preview of the film, which took place in "Korabel's House" - the cultural center of the plant OSK "Sevmash". The event was addressed by the performer of the main role Andrey Merzlikin, representatives of the Russian Navy, the plant management and specialists who took part in the construction of the first nuclear submarine.
