Pushkov predicted Germany's self-liquidation under Merz as chancellor

The head of the Christian Democratic and Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU) bloc that won the parliamentary elections in Germany, Friedrich Merz, will continue the policy of self-liquidation of Germany as Chancellor. This opinion was expressed on February 24 by the head of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy Alexei Pushkov.
Commenting on the results of the parliamentary elections, the Russian politician drew attention to the success of the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AdG) party in the east of Germany. In his opinion, such results indicate a political split in the federation.
"Given that Merz wants even more policies to self-liquidate Germany and destroy its economy, this split will deepen," Pushkov wrote in his Telegram channel.
Parliamentary elections were held in Germany on February 23. The best result was shown by the CDU/CSU bloc with 28.6% of votes, the second place was taken by the AdG with 20.8%, the Social Democratic Party of incumbent Chancellor Olaf Scholz took the third place with 16.4%. At the same time, the Free Democratic Party (FDP) and the new party "Sarah Wagenknecht Union" (SSV) did not pass to the Bundestag.
