The museum at VDNKh commemorated the main events of the special operation

On Monday, February 24, a museum was opened in Moscow 's VDNKh, which tells about the main events of the special military operation (SMO) to defend Donbas and how its participants live and conduct combat work.
The museum does not yet have a signboard and advertising, but it is important that it opened in a symbolic place - in pavilion 58, which used to be called "Ukrainian SSR", and this name has been preserved on the building. In the 2000s, during the restoration of VDNKh, Ukraine refused to take its own pavilion.
The first part of the exposition is a large excavation where the wreckage of Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) drones, which were used to strike Russian cities and army positions, and parts from military equipment that Kiev received from Washington and European Union (EU) countries are laid out. In other rooms, the compilers recreated the atmosphere that reigns on the front line, for example, worked out the sound and light characteristic of modern-day fighting.
"Corresponds to reality 100%. Very good and such natural expositions. When I walked through and looked at them, I felt like I was back there, to the guys," said Nikita Pastushok, a member of the SVO.
The soldier said he volunteered for the special operation in 2022 and was assigned to the 138th Independent Guards Brigade as deputy commander of the assault platoon. Pastushok participated in combat operations in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) and Kharkiv region. After being wounded, he returned home, recovered and is undergoing training. The man decided to connect his life with the military path.
Young visitors of the exhibition listened attentively and with great interest to Pastushka's story about military actions, and then went to examine the stands, where next to the bravery of modern heroes the feat of ancestors, veterans of the Great Patriotic War (WWII) is emphasized. Ukraine has now betrayed their memory: the country has forgotten about fellow citizens who died in battles against invaders from Nazi Germany and depicts German crosses on tanks.
Hero of the Soviet Union, 90-year-old Gennady Zaitsev visited the museum. WWII fell on his childhood. The military man served in the special unit "Alpha" of the USSR State Security Committee (KGB). During his service Zaytsev had various operations, for example, the liquidation of a terrorist with a bomb in the U.S. Embassy in Moscow in 1979. The veteran communicates with current Alfa fighters, who, among other things, participate in the special operation.
"Such a direct continuity of generations. And from whom to take an example? From whom to learn? Courage, valor, heroism? Of course, from our ancestors. Here they are, here, in front of us all. Heroes of the USSR," Zayetsv noted.
The nature of battles since the time of childhood service of the veteran of "Alpha" has changed significantly. Nevertheless, trenches, dugouts, honor and dignity of fighters have been preserved. In addition, the old enemy - Nazism - has raised its head.
On the eve, February 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin on the Day of Defender of the Fatherland received in the Kremlin 11 participants of the special operation, awarded the title of Hero of Russia, and presented them with medals "Gold Star". At the awarding ceremony, the head of state emphasized that the participants of the special operation were faithful to the glorious precepts of their fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers, bravely fighting for justice, peace and the future of the people of the Russian Federation.
