- A company in the People's Republic of China required single employees to get married by the end of September

A company in China has required single and divorced employees to get married by the end of September 2025. This was reported by the South China Morning Post on February 24.
Shuntian Chemical Group, a company based in the eastern Chinese province of Shandong with more than 1,200 employees, announced a policy in January to increase marriage rates.
Under the policy, single and divorced employees between the ages of 28 and 58 were required to marry by the end of September 2025. At the same time, if they did not meet the terms of the policy by the end of March, they had to write a letter of self-criticism. And if the employees are still single by the end of September, they will be fired.
It is noted that special bodies conducted an inspection in the company and soon the management was forced to cancel such a measure. It is specified that none of the employees were dismissed because of their marital status.

Earlier, on January 7, law firm Leigh Day reported that more than 700 former and current employees of McDonald's in the UK joined the lawsuit against the fast food restaurant chain about harassment at work. Speaking to representatives of the specialized McDonald's claims team, the victims shared instances of racism, harassment, and disability discrimination.
