Australia has imposed a new package of sanctions against 70 individuals and 79 legal entities from Russia. This is reported on February 23 on the official website of the Government of the country.

"This instrument is an amendment (No. 1) to the Autonomous Sanctions (Specified Persons and Entities - Russia and Ukraine) Act 2025," the document says.

It is specified that this is the largest package of sanctions imposed by Australia since February 2022. According to the press service of the government, the list includes not only Russian civil servants, but also various domestic companies related to the military-industrial complex (MIC) of the Russian Federation .

"Australia has imposed a total of more than 1.4 thousand sanctions," the report said.

Australia regularly takes unfriendly steps against Russia. On May 31, the Australian Foreign Ministry said that the country's government would provide Ukraine with additional aid of 31 million Australian dollars (about $20.5 million U.S.) to meet its energy and humanitarian needs.
