UCB provided statistics on retail loans in January


In January 2025, Russians took out 2.7 million retail loans worth 475.12 billion rubles, which is 47% less in number and 54% lower in volume than a year earlier. Such data on February 24 with "RIA Novosti" shared with "RIA Novosti" in the United Credit Bureau (UCB).
It is noted that this is the lowest level of lending over the past few years.
Compared to December 2024, the number of loans issued decreased by 11%, and the volume - by 37%. Then Russians made 3.09 million loans for 750.15 billion rubles.
The largest volumes in all segments of lending were recorded in Moscow (Br51.02 billion), Moscow region (Br35.44 billion), St. Petersburg (21.49 billion), Krasnodar region (18.79 billion) and Sverdlovsk region (14.47 billion).
Earlier, on February 21, the head of the State Duma Committee on Property, Sergei Gavrilov, said that the law of self-imposed ban on loans, which will come into force on March 1, applies exclusively to unsecured loans and credits, as well as credit cards.
