UN Security Council to vote on February 24 on US-proposed resolution on Ukraine

The UN Security Council will vote on Monday on a neutral draft resolution on Ukraine proposed by the USA. This was reported on February 24 by the PRC post mission to the organization.

"At 15.00 (23.00 Moscow time) the Council will vote on the draft resolution submitted by the US," TASS quoted the diplomats' statement as saying.

"We are seeing the beginning of a complete U.S. withdrawal from the conflict in Ukraine"

On February 22, Bloomberg news agency learned about the US intention to block Ukraine's resolution against Russia at the UN. It is alleged that the US draft resolution does not stipulate the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, although they were clearly spelled out in previous UN resolutions supported by the United States.

At the same time, US Secretary of State Mark Rubio said that the USA would present a historic resolution on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine to the UNGA on February 24. Rubio also reminded that President Trump is an adherent of the idea of a diplomatic solution to the conflict. The politician also attached a link to the message of the United States Department of State, which contains details of the content of the resolution.
