Swedish Foreign Minister Malmer Stenergard has said that the kingdom plans to transfer air defense systems worth 1.2bn Swedish kronor (about $113m) to Ukraine. She said this in social network X on February 23, citing a statement by the country's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

"Ukraine will receive air defense systems totaling SEK 1.2 billion. By supporting Ukraine, we strengthen our own security, write Ulf Kristersson, Ebba Busch and Johan Persson," she reported.

According to Swedish politicians, one of the reasons for the aid package was that Ukraine "is in dire need of air defense."

On February 19, the Russian embassy in Sweden said it had stepped up security measures after the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) warned of terrorist attacks. The SVR reported earlier in the day that Kiev might carry out a series of terrorist attacks against Russian diplomatic missions in the European Union (EU) to disrupt negotiations on the conflict settlement. The agency specified that Ukraine was most likely to try to carry out such actions in Germany, the Baltic States and Scandinavia.
