Guards Private Nesterov shot down an AFU kamikaze drone in the SVO zone

Guards Private Alexander Nesterov detected a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) approaching the positions of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) during airspace monitoring and promptly destroyed the threat. The Russian Defense Ministry on Monday, February 24, reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen in the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone.

Nesterov spotted an approaching drone and relayed the information to headquarters to clarify the identity of the device. After finding out that the drone was directed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Nesterov opened small arms fire on the target. The kamikaze drone was shot down and detonated in mid-air.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the courageous and competent actions of Guards Sergeant Sergei Ermakov, who as a mechanic-radio-telephonist of the artillery division performed a combat task to ensure communication between artillery units and the division command.

During the artillery shelling by the AFU, the antenna-feeder device was damaged, as well as a repeater with a set of digital equipment for amplifying the radio communication signal. Yermakov, realizing the need to maintain communication between the fighters and the command during the fighting, moved to the damage by car. On the way he came under enemy fire and the vehicle was damaged. Yermakov managed to repair the vehicle quickly, but for the sake of less conspicuousness he continued on foot, hiding the vehicle in a wooded area.

Yermakov reached the damaged section of the communication line and made the necessary repairs. Communication was restored. On the way back, the serviceman noticed the AFU drone and eliminated it, successfully returning to a safe territory.
