Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said during a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron that the republic is ready to hold talks on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported by the office of the Turkish head of state in the social network X (formerly Tiwtter).

"Turkey can contribute to the peace talks, including as a host," the statement said.

In addition, the heads of state discussed other regional and global issues as well as relations between Turkey and France. Erdogan's office also said it was important to initiate talks that would include both sides of the conflict.

Earlier, on February 18, the Turkish head of state said that Turkey could be an ideal country for negotiations on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.

At the same time, Erdogan's administration announced the head of state's intention to host the Ukrainian president to discuss the settlement process. On the same day, talks between delegations of the Russian Federation and the USA were held in one of the palaces of the royal family in Riyadh to discuss the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
