The governor of the city Vladimir Vladimirov specified that the incident occurred when the child was riding down an icy slide.

Vladimirov expressed his condolences to the relatives of the deceased.

Earlier, on January 24, investigators opened a case after the death of a woman from a dog attack near Novosibirsk. A criminal case under Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence") was opened in connection with improper performance of duties by officials of the administration of Verkh-Tulinsky village council of Novosibirsk district.
